Who we are

What data we collect
- Technical data — IP address (hashed), browser type, pages visited, referer. Used for security and analytics (if you consent).
- Consent records — your cookie banner choices, timestamp, policy version. Stored as proof of consent under GDPR Article 7.
- Contact data — only when you submit a form (replace with your own list).
Legal basis
- Legitimate interest for security logs and essential site function.
- Consent for analytics and advertising cookies (see our Cookie policy).
- Contract / legal obligation where applicable (e.g. order records).
How long we keep data
- Consent records: 5 years (regulatory proof).
- Server logs: 90 days.
- Analytics data: per your Google Analytics retention setting (default 14 months).

Browser local storage (quiz scores)
When you complete a quiz on Knowalot, your score, the quiz title, and the time of the attempt are saved in your browser’s local storage (a small client-side database, separate from cookies). This lets you see your own progress without us holding any personal data.
- What is stored: per round — title, score, total questions, timestamp. Up to 20 most recent attempts per round.
- What is NOT stored: no name, no email, no IP address, no device identifier — nothing that identifies you.
- Where it goes: nowhere. Local storage is held only in your browser on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party.
- How to clear it: clear site data from your browser’s settings. That action wipes the saved scores completely.
